Because of that the developers have created 3 ways in which the players can communicate with each other.

Gestures
To perform a gesture, you have to press X and launch the quick menu.
There, select “gestures” tab.
Pick a gesture you want to use.
Voice chat
The voice chat activates automatically every time you run No Man’s Sky.
Remember to turn it off if you don’t want to be heard by others.
To mute yourself or other players you have to launch the menu and go to the audio options.
This method is fast and save.
Sadly, you could’t report players who cause problems or offend others.
Text chat
Text chat can be activated both in single and multiplayer modes.
Press Enter to display the chat icon.
Here, you’re able to talk with your friends.
We didn’t notice any censorship.
The chat window also informs you about findings of other players.
