Having the door to your right, stand near the closest niche:Sword, Scroll, Stone.
Using the switch, place the second portal at the other side of the gate.
The plate will be pushed down.Now, stand to the right of your portal and face it.
Shoot at it (for example using a Crossbow) and the missile will fall onto the second plate.
The gate should open, allowing you to obtain the Crowern Figurine.
Place it in the niche (5.3)

Only going through air once again will unlock them.
You may accidentally find yourself in a room full of mimics, who will attack you right away.
