How does the Trial of Cariff work?
List of the Trial of Cariff challenges
- Complete 3 missions.
World Events don’t count.
you should probably complete missions available in the expedition window (see the picture above).
you could complete Agent Missions, contracts or mission taking place in a Stronghold.
Alternatively, use the Quickplay mode to replay a story mission.
- Defeat 30 enemies using Javelin’s equipment (abilities).
A very simple challenge.
Keep using offensive abilities.
Don’t use firearms - kills done with them won’t count here.
- Perform 15 combos.

Combos are performed by chaining to abilities - one that weakens an enemy or inflicts a status (e.g.
burning or freezing) and the other that will lead to a combo.
text informs you that the two abilities used by you were chained correctly (see the picture above).
- Perform 3 multi-kills.
Next, activate the ability and use it to damage as many enemies as possible.
