Developers have introduced an interesting system of interdependence between elements.

The dependencies are not one-staged ones, e.g.

water puts out fire.

If you have the appropriate spells and scrolls, or abilities, you might create more complex mixtures e.g.

They are worth remembering and using with each opportunity.

Shocks everyone standing in the puddle.

Vapor - limits visibility and makes some attacks impossible.

Freezing

Ice - Freezes the enemies and makes them slip (knock down) over its surface.

Creates a storm cloud that paralyzes the enemies within its reach.

Also, it is worth remembering that there are exceptions, e.g.

Acid or Oil do not conduct electricity.

using fire on a fire elemental, or poison on zombie).
